Dotted with apple trees, the Normandy countryside of the Pays d'Auge with rolling meadows extends over the departments of Calvados, Orne and Eure.
It is in spring, when the apple trees are in bloom, that its landscapes are particularly bucolic. In Calvados, walkers are invited to explore their many farms, half-timbered mansions, cottages, parks and gardens .
Full of charm, these half-timbered buildings constitute a marvelous heritage to discover absolutely! This area, with its many stud farms, is renowned for its breeding of thoroughbred horses.
The Pays d'Auge is also famous for its local products. Cider, Calvados and cheeses, such as Camembert, Pont-l'Evêque and Livarot. These products will undoubtedly be the delight of gourmets.
Finally, labeled "land of art and history" since 2000, it covers approximately 1,750 km² of the 29,906 km² of Normandy.

Our lodging is labeled 4 ears Gîte de France. An authentic Augeronne from the end of the 18th century which fits fully into this rustic scene. Adorned with its half-timbering and its Bavent tiles, La Blanchetière offers its visitors a unique setting, exceptional calm and comfort.

An authentic gîte in the heart of the Pays d'Auge
From our first meeting in 2016 with La Blanchetière we fell in love with her. The place is a true image of Epinal de la Normandie. They cease to delight us with their charms over the seasons.
The renovation of the building was carried out with the greatest respect for old materials. The interior is chic and harmonious. The decoration made by the previous owners has been thought out with great taste.
A rich and preserved environment
The Normandy countryside par excellence.
Here, farms, thatched cottages and small hamlets built on the hillside hide behind elderberry or hawthorn hedges and alternate with meadows where herds graze.
La Blanchetière is no exception to the rule. An organic orchard where cows graze borders our large flowered and wooded garden. As well as a pension for horses which is in the immediate vicinity of the house.
Rabbits, woodpeckers, chickadees, wagtails, dragonflies and other inhabitants of the area will certainly be observed during your stay.
Finally, below the Blanchetière, the famous Houssaye cheese dairy has been established since 1810 . You can buy direct sales: Livarot, Pont l'Evêque and Pavé d'Auge.
All the necessary shops are 6 km from the house, in Saint Pierre sur Dives. or 10kms far from the house at Livarot.

La Blanchetière: a place to relax with ease
We wanted to cultivate in these places the spirit of "Family House". We like to spend time there with family or friends. Working the garden, harvesting the fruits, listening to the silence, as well as the evenings by the fireside, are activities that we particularly enjoy.
Our lodging was classified until 2019 "4 épis Gîtes de France". It meets the exceptional comfort criteria set by the label. A house of character in the heart of a remarkable environment. The interior decoration is of high quality.
